Equality and Diversity
Dyfed Powys Police is fully committed to ensuring that every person who resides, works or visits the Dyfed Powys Police area, receives treatment that is fair, meets their particular needs and does not discriminate on grounds of nationality, race, colour, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
Dyfed Powys Police is working with local communities to eradicate incidents which are motivated by intolerance of diversity and that result in hate crime.
Single Equality Scheme
Dyfed-Powys Police published its Single Equality Scheme in April 2009. The Scheme’s primary aim is to bring together, into a single document, everything we plan to do over the next three years to ensure that our staff and indeed, the communities we serve, are treated fairly and according to their needs.
Confidence and Equality Groups
Each of the four counties that make up Dyfed Powys has set up Confidence and Equality Groups. These groups are organised by the police and seek representatives from communities that include:
- Young people - aged 16 to 25 years
- Elderly people
- People with disabilities
- People who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender

- People from minority ethnic communities
The purpose of these forums is to ensure access by under-represented groups within the community to the police and to provide a forum to discuss and resolve the needs and concerns of the community.
