Sexual Assault Referral Centres
New Pathways provides specialist support to men, women and children who have been affected by rape or sexual abuse and are the first organisation within Wales to have developed a Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
The decision to report rape is often very difficult. Should you decide that you are not ready to report your attack to the police, New Pathways can assist you with confidential advice. It is possible to have a forensic medical examination without reporting the attack initially. This will help you to make an informed choice at a later stage
The centres are staffed by specially-trained, experienced professionals who can give medical advice, counselling, practical emotional support, help in deciding whether to report the crime to the police, and advice relating to pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
