What We Have Done
Llandeilo:
- To have better contact with youth within the section
As part of better contact with youth Llandeilo NPT have given various inputs to pupils at Tregib School. Consultation with youth services to arrange visits to Llandeilo town on Friday evenings where NPT and youth workers will engage with the youths congregating in New Road. - Depositing of litter in Llandeilo car parks
Llandeilo NPT have concentrated patrol in the area and have consulted with park groundsman, they have also consulted with the Local Authority environment enforcement officers who will be visiting the area.
Llandovery:
- Speeding to the A40 Llanwrda Junction
We have liaised with the Roads Policing Unit who at this time of year carry out Operation Darwin which covers the A40 and this junction where the locals have concerns. Roads Policing Unit have given us statistics to take to the local council meeting about the number of motorists who have been caught speeding and for the manner of their driving. Towy north NPT and Response officers have also made their visible presence known; the feedback from the local community is positive that all this action has helped calm the speed and manner of motorists driving.
Who's Who
Inspector Paul Williams

Inspector Paul Williams joined Dyfed Powys Police in June 1991. He was originally stationed at Llanelli before transferring to Llwynhendy. He was promoted to Sergeant in Ammanford in 1996, where he served for several years before he transferred back to the Llanelli area. In 2001 he became the Divisional Training Officer for Carmarthenshire, and then qualified to the rank of Inspector. He was promoted to Lampeter as Section Inspector in 2004 before coming back to Carmarthenshire in 2006. He covered the Human Resources role in Carmarthenshire as Temporary Chief Inspector before starting in Ammanford as Neighbourhood Policing Inspector in 2008. His favourite aspects of the role are helping people and making a difference to the community.
Sergeant Mike Melly

Sergeant Mike Melly has fifteen years service all of which has been spent within the Carmarthenshire division. He is a resident of Carmarthenshire and believes that this helps him to understand the local issues and concerns raised within the area. With the support of his neighbourhood policing team he hopes to develop a higher profile and working relationship with this neighbourhood community.
PC Howie Davies

PC Howie Davies resides within the community of the Towy valley and has conducted his duties predominately within Carmarthenshire, which offers the opportunity and advantage to understand the needs and concerns, including language, of those who reside within the Towy section.
PC Vernon Thomas
Collar Number: 306
PC Vernon Thomas is the Neighbourhood Police Officer for Llandeilo in the Towy section and has spent fourteen years in the Police Force. He says, “I have been brought up in Llandeilo and I feel that this makes me sympathetic to the needs and expectations of the community.”
PCSO Stephen Griffiths

PCSO Stephen Griffiths was as a hospital porter for seventeen years, before joining Dyfed-Powys Police in January 2007. He is enjoying the new challenge of working in Llandovery.
PCSO Roger Anthony
Collar Number: 8010
PCSO Roger Anthony is a native of Tycroes. He joined the Dyfed Powys Police Cadets in 1970 at the age of 16 and in 1973 as a Constable. He has served 35 years in the police service as a Constable and Sergeant, and after retiring rejoined the force as a Police Community Support Officer.

Attend neighbourhood policing meetings, report crime and anti-social behaviour, join in community activities and Neighbourhood Watch, and visit your local council for information on community safety schemes in your area.

Discuss community issues with your Neighbourhood Policing Team and have the chance to influence their priorities.

- Llandovery: Rhys Pritchard Memorial hall at 6.30 - 7.30pm on the 3rd Wednesday of every month
