What We Have Done

  • Speeding on Carmarthen Road / Fforest Road, Hendy
    Targeted patrols have been conducted. Numerous offences have been witnessed and dealt with accordingly. Highways informed regarding placing traffic monitoring equipment on the road.  
  • Speeding on Ebenezer Road, Llanedi
    Targeted patrols with the hand-held speed gun have been conducted and no offences have been witnessed. Traffic monitoring equipment has been placed on the road to monitor the volume / speed of traffic.

Who's Who

Inspector James Davies

Collar Number: -

Inspector James Davies has over twenty years police service, most recently within Carmarthenshire at Llanelli and Carmarthen and as neighbourhood policing inspector covering the Towy-Gwendraeth area, he is also a trained police public order commander. He has previously worked in the control room at Police Headquarters in Llangunnor, and has also served in Powys and with the Metropolitan Police in London, where he worked for the first 8 years of his police career, working primarily in the West and South London areas.

Sergeant Eddie Donnelly

Sergeant Eddie Donnelly joined Dyfed Powys Police in 1983, He was originally posted to Llanelli where worked as a police Constable and then Detective Constable before being promoted to Sergeant at Carmarthen in 1989. Following on from this he has worked at Cross Hands, Burry Port, Llanelli, Ammanford. He was posted to Felinfoel in 2006 and then was given responsibility for both Llwynhendy and Felinfoel. At the end of May 2010 he was asked to undertake responsibility for Neighbourhood Policing for Llwynhendy and Felinfoel. He lives locally and is married with two sons.

PC Jane Macdonald

PC Jane Macdonald joined the Police service in 1996 and was first stationed in Pembroke Dock. She then moved to Tenby where she remained until 2003. Following returning from maternity leave she transferred to Carmarthenshire division and to Felinfoel until joining the neighbourhood policing team in Llwynhendy in May 2006. She is from Llanelli and spent a lot of her childhood in the Llwynhendy area, so is fully aware of problems and issues that are prevalent in this area. Her beat areas are Llangennech, Hendy and Llanedi.

PCSO Steve Lloyd

Collar Number: 8041

PCSO Steve Lloyd joined Dyfed-Powys Police in October 2006, working from the Llwynhendy office. He previously worked as a primary school teacher in Carmarthenshire, and following a number of years in the classroom decided that it was time to change direction and become a PCSO. He says, “The role appealed to me from a number of fronts, including the fact that it would be diverse in nature, that much of my time would be spent outdoors, and also the fact that it involves meeting and addressing the needs of the community.”

How You Can Take Action

Attend neighbourhood policing meetings, report crime and anti-social behaviour, join in community activities and Neighbourhood Watch, and visit your local council for information on community safety schemes in your area.

Neighbourhood Meetings

Discuss community issues with your Neighbourhood Policing Team and have the chance to influence their priorities.

The next meeting will take place on Tuesday May 4th due to the Bank Holiday

First Monday of the month at 6pm at alternating venues:

  • Arlan Gwili, Hendy in January, March, May, July, September and November
  • Llangennech Community Centre in February, April, June, August, October and December
