What We Have Done
- Improve lighting at Castle Grounds
Lighting has now been put in by the Council. CCTV is also in the area but this is a mobile system and not permanently in place. Town PCSOs are regularly patrolling the area. - Issues of Anti-social noise and refuse at Northgate Street
Ongoing priority - the area is being regularly patrolled by town PCSOs who are monitoring the situation; no persistent problems have been highlighted recently.

Inspector Louise Bradshaw

Inspector Louise Bradshaw was born in England and later attended Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron and then Aberystwyth University before joining West Midlands Police. In 2002 she returned to Ceredigion with her family and has worked in Aberystwyth, Lampeter and Cardigan Police Stations before being promoted to Neighbourhood Policing Inspector based at Aberystwyth in 2008. She has a varied range of experience having worked in cities and rural areas and covered areas such as roads policing, custody, intelligence unit and public protection.
Sergeant Delme Rees

Sergeant Delme Rees commenced in the role of NPT Sergeant from October 2009. Originally from Carmarthen, he started his career with Derbyshire Constabulary where he served for three years as a Neighbourhood Policing Officer before transferring to Dyfed-Powys Police in October 2006. He was initially posted to Lampeter before being promoted to Aberystwyth as a Sergeant covering the Response and Custody functions before undertaking his new appointment. He said “I am looking forward to working with the Neighbourhood Policing Team, partner agencies and local communities to tackle the issues that concern the communities most”
PC Neil Thompson

PC Neil Thompson has over fourteen years’ service and was initially stationed at Aberystwyth Town before moving to the Rural Section. In 2007 he began his role as the Neighbourhood Police Officer for Aberyswyth Town and University.
PC Mark Jones
Collar Number: 1072
PC Mark Jones has been a police officer since 2001, mainly working in the South Ceredigion section, before becoming a Neighbourhood Policing Officer within the Aberystwyth Rural section in October 2006.
PCSO Paul Brooks
Collar Number: 8008
PCSO Paul Brooks was a Special Constable in the Tenby area of Pembrokeshire before joining as a PCSO in April 2008. He has the responsibility for Aberystwyth Town Centre and University. When he is not in work he enjoys going to the gym and taking part in various sports.
PCSO Russ Farley
Collar Number: 8046
PCSO Russ Farley was previously a Special Constable before joining full time as a PCSO in 2007. He has also previously worked as a Special Constable with West Midlands and West Mercia Police. He says, “When I am not working I am training, running, or on the bike – but there are never enough hours in the day!”

Attend neighbourhood policing meetings, report crime and anti-social behaviour, join in community activities and Neighbourhood Watch, and visit your local council for information on community safety schemes in your area.

Discuss community issues with your Neighbourhood Policing Team and have the chance to influence their priorities.
