Ceredigion Citizens' Panel
The Ceredigion Citizens’ Panel is a joint initiative between Dyfed-Powys Police and Ceredigion County Council. The Panel is a representative group of approximately 700 people living in the County of Ceredigion who have agreed to offer their views and opinions on services delivered by the partners.
Why do we need a Citizens’ Panel?
The partner organisations need to find out what local people think about their services. If each one did this separately it would prove very costly and would mean that residents would be asked their views again and again. Each of the partners contribute to the costs of the Panels, making it a more cost effective and efficient way for them to hear your views and opinions.
What do Panel members have to do?
Panel members are asked to complete 3 online or postal questionnaires a year about the services delivered by the partners and responses are used to help influence the planning of local services, how they are provided and issues such as how the partners communicate with local people. Because the Panel is broadly representative of each county, we can gauge the opinions of residents in each geographical area as well as throughout the County.
After each consultation exercise, members’ replies are analysed and full reports are sent to each of the partner organisations. We condense these findings into newsletters, which all members receive and also update you on actions taken by the partners or let members know how the information has or will be used.
