About Carmarthenshire

Carmarthenshire remains one of the safest places in the country, with crime rates falling consistently over the last five years. It is mainly a rural area, with the major conurbations being Llanelli, Ammanford and Carmarthen. It has a population of 181,000 people, and this number is supplemented by approximately 2.9 million tourists and visitors who come to the county annually. Half (50.3%) of Carmarthenshire’s population speak Welsh.
