    Thu 17 May 2012

For our priority this month we are going to be conducting periodic visits in the area ensuring that our police presence is made visible to the public. We want to reassure the public that we are here to help and make our communities safer and we will be tackling anti-social behaviour head on.  We are going to be patrolling the areas and encouraging members of the public to report any suspicious incidents. If we don’t receive the calls we can not identify where the problems are.

If anyone has any concerns about this or any other similar issues in this area, or has information that may help us deal with this matter please get in touch by calling the team on 101 or you can Speak with PC Kevin Jones 88 or PCSO Sharee Treharne 8009 at Jenkins Bakery every Thursday between 10-11am for “Cuppa with a copper” to discuss any issues.

The neighbourhood policing team also hold Partnerships and Communities Together (PACT) meetings in Ammanford Fire Station every 2nd Tuesday of the month 6:30-7:30pm. (Please see our Events tab for further details).

08/05/2012 – On a whole, the areas have been rather quiet in the past month. The main leaders of the groups causing anti-social behaviour have since agreed to adhere to their acceptable behaviour contracts. A number of houses in the Parcyrhun area have been visited where we’ve asked if anyone is having any issues with the youths in the area. We also advised them about our PACT meetings that we hold once a month should they want to inform us in person. We will keep the priority on for another month and conduct high visibility policing patrols in the area.

Next PACT meeting will be held on 12th June 2012 at 6:30pm in Ammanford Fire Station, High Street, Ammanford

10/04/2012 - There has been an increase in the number of calls received in relation to anti-social behaviour over the last month. The community have been made aware of the report campaign which encourages membes of the public to report incidents to the police. 26 anti-social behaviour letters have been issued to youths around the Ammanford area wth some youths leading on to receiving an acceptable behaviour contract with the anti-social behaviour co-ordinator, Community Safety department, Carmarthenshire County Council.

13/03/2012 – The neighbourhood Policing team and response officers have been working together to tackle the issues you as a community are having with the youths around the area. We have also been promoting the “REPORT” campaign. We are encouraging people to report anything unusual or suspicious activity they see. Without the calls being made we are not going to know the issues you are having in the community.

There was a range of entertainment and food sampling all donated free of charge available for the guests. The event also gave the public the opportunity to speak and get to know their representatives from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and give us their views on the areas they reside in.

Neighbourhood Meetings

  • Partnerships and Communities Together (PACT) gives you the chance to influence what happens in your neighbourhood.

This means that your Neighbourhood Policing Team will:

Publicise how to get in touch with them.
Find out what the local issues are that make people feel unsafe in their neighbourhood and ask them in order of priority.
Decide with partners and local people what should be done to deal with those priorities and work with them to deliver the solutions.
Let people know what is being done and find out if they are satisfied with the results.
