    31/01/2012 - Cross Hands NPT have conducted regular patrols at both locations and no persons have been found at either location. NPT have spoken to local residents who have stated that there have been no youths congregating in either location and are happy with the recent increased Police presence. NPT have been liaising closely with Felinfoel Brewery with regards to the problems at Tumble Hotel and have no concerns or issues regarding persons having entered the premises.

    31/01/2012 - NPT have conducted patrols during the evenings at the location where there have been no persons found congregating. Local residents have been spoken to who have stated that there has been no activity during the month.

    23/02/2012 - NPT will conduct high visibility patrols in the area and deal with any offences as necessary. Npt will link in with both Carmarthenshire County Council and Llannon Community Council to reduce the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour at the location. Feedback will be given at the next PACT Meeting.

    26/01/2012 - Anti-social behaviour Ravelston Court – NPT have targeted the area throughout the month and details of a number of youths obtained and spoken to. NPT are currently liaising with Carms CC and Llannon Community Council regarding the on-going issue with the intention of a joint approach to eradicate the issue. Enquiries are in hand to see if there is a possibility in replacing the old style bus stop with the clear Perspex type to make the area a less appealing congregation point.
    1 Section 27 – Notice of direction to leave was issued to a local youth who was found to be acting in an anti-social manner.
    Cross Hands NPT conducted an ASB operation over the weekend period 24th – 26th of February where details of youths were taken however no Youths were causing ASB prior to Police Attendance. No calls were received during the weekend period of ASB in the area.
    This will continue as a priority for March.

  • Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Team hosted a Multi Cultural event at the main Hall in the Amman Valley Comprehensive School on the 4th March 2012. The event drew a very large crowd of over 350 visitors. The event was held to attract people in our Communities from different backgrounds to try and include people from the 7 strands of Diversity.

    One quote from a visitor '' This has been a long time coming''. '' I have never attended such an enjoyable successful event in this area and I am looking forward to the next one.''

    The event attracted the United Nations volunteer group who visit and carry out community work, agricultural work and environmental work in our areas. The group consisted of students from across the world. Japan, Russia, Germany, Holland, Greece, France and many more. We also had a large congregation from the Thai and Pilipino community, Welsh language groups, elderly, children, the guides, the blind, various associations, various religious groups and also the Chinese and Indian Communities.

    There was a range of entertainment and food sampling all donated free of charge available for the guests. The event also gave the public the opportunity to speak and get to know their representatives from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and give us their views on the areas they reside in.

    The event was opened by the Lady Mayor of Ammanford Irena Hopkins and the audience was also addressed by MP Jonathan Edwards. Present at the event was Paulo Piano, Senior Development Officer from the Llanelli Multicultural Network Project.

Inspector Paul Williams 2105

  • Paul Williams

    Inspector Paul Williams joined Dyfed-Powys Police in June 1991. He was originally stationed at Llanelli before transferring to Llwynhendy. He was promoted to Sergeant in Ammanford in 1996, where he served for several years before he transferred back to the Llanelli area. In 2001 he became the Divisional Training Officer for Carmarthenshire, and then qualified to the rank of Inspector. He was promoted to Lampeter as Section Inspector in 2004 before coming back to Carmarthenshire in 2006.  He covered the Human Resources role in Carmarthenshire as Temporary Chief Inspector before starting in Ammanford as Neighbourhood Policing Inspector in 2008. His favourite aspects of the role are helping people and making a difference to the community.

Sergeant Mike Melly 771

  • Mike Melly

    Sergeant Mike Melly has fifteen years service all of which has been spent within the Carmarthenshire division. He is a resident of Carmarthenshire and believes that this helps him to understand the local issues and concerns raised within the area. With the support of his neighbourhood policing team he hopes to develop a higher profile and working relationship with this neighbourhood community.

PC Tony Davies 525

  • PC Tony Davies joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 1985 and has been stationed in Crosshands since 2003. He took up the role as a neighbouring police officer in March 2008.

PC Wyn Davies 312

  • PC Wyn Davies joined Dyfed-Powys Police in June 1995 and has been stationed in Ammanford and Crosshands. He took up his current role as a neighbourhood policing officer in January 2007.

PCSO Jade Miller 8084

  • PCSO Jade Miller studied police sciences and was a special constable with South Wales Police for 18 months.

PCSO Stuart Davies 8061

  • PCSO Stuart Davies joined Dyfed Powys in January 2005 where he served as a special constable. He then started as a PCSO in January 2007 and worked in Kidwelly until November 2007 when he moved to the Crosshands section.
