    Fri 20 Apr 2012

For our priority this month we are going to be conducting periodic visits in the area ensuring that our police presence is made visible to the public. We want to reassure the public that we are here to help and make our communities safer and we will be tackling anti-social behaviour head on.  We are going to be patrolling the areas and encouraging members of the public to report any suspicious incidents. If we don’t receive the calls we cannot identify where the problems are.

If any member of the public wants to discuss any issue with the local Policing team for the area, please get in touch by calling 101 or you can speak with PCSO Alan Davies 8043, PCSO Ryan Howells 8037 or PC Sharon Davies 753 at Llandybie memorial hall on Tuesday mornings between 11.00 - 12.00hrs, or you can come to our ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ in Caffi’r Pentref in Llandybie every Thursday morning at 11.00hrs.

The neighbourhood Policing team also hold Partnership and Communities Together (PACT) meetings in Llandybie Memorial hall every second Wednesday of every month at 19.00hrs.

11/04/2012 - There have been some minor Anti social behaviour issues reported. Local Police have spoken with residents and other agencies in an attempt to alleviate any issue.

Next Pact will be held on Wednesday 9th May 2012 at 19.00hrs at Llandybie Memorial hall, Llandybie.

  • Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Team hosted a Multi Cultural event at the main Hall in the Amman Valley Comprehensive School on the 4th March 2012. The event drew a very large crowd of over 350 visitors. The event was held to attract people in our Communities from different backgrounds to try and include people from the 7 strands of Diversity.

One quote from a visitor '' This has been a long time coming''. '' I have never attended such an enjoyable successful event in this area and I am looking forward to the next one.''

The event attracted the United Nations volunteer group who visit and carry out community work, agricultural work and environmental work in our areas. The group consisted of students from across the world. Japan, Russia, Germany, Holland, Greece, France and many more. We also had a large congregation from the Thai and Pilipino community, Welsh language groups, elderly, children, the guides, the blind, various associations, various religious groups and also the Chinese and Indian Communities.

There was a range of entertainment and food sampling all donated free of charge available for the guests. The event also gave the public the opportunity to speak and get to know their representatives from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and give us their views on the areas they reside in.

The event was opened by the Lady Mayor of Ammanford Irena Hopkins and the audience was also addressed by MP Jonathan Edwards. Present at the event was Paulo Piano, Senior Development Officer from the Llanelli Multicultural Network Project.
