Tycroes, Saron, Capel Hendre and Penybanc

To tackle Anti-social behaviour and reduce alcohol related crime in the area over the six nation’s tournament.

    Ammanford West neighbourhood Policing team will continue and increase patrols in the area ensuring a visible Police presence in Llandybie,Tycroes, Capel Hendre, Saron and Penybanc to help make our communities feel safer by tackling Anti-Social behaviour and alcohol related crime.

    If any member of the public wants to discuss any issue with the local Policing team for the area, please get in touch by calling 101 or you can speak with PCSO Alan Davies 8043 or PC Sharon Davies 753 at Bancyddraenen Community office, 2, Bancyddraenen, Capel Hendre, Ammanford every Wednesday between 11.00-12.00hrs.

    The neighbourhood Policing team also hold Partnership and Communities Together (PACT) meetings in The Bancyddraenen Community office, 2, Bancyddraenen, Capel Hendre, Ammanford every second Tuesday of every month at 19.00hrs. (Please see our Events tab for further updates).

To target scrap metal thefts in the Ammanford area.

    Ammanford neighbourhood policing team are organising operations to combat scrap metal thefts on a regular basis in the Ammanford area.

Inspector Paul Williams 2105

  • Paul Williams

    Inspector Paul Williams joined Dyfed-Powys Police in June 1991. He was originally stationed at Llanelli before transferring to Llwynhendy. He was promoted to Sergeant in Ammanford in 1996, where he served for several years before he transferred back to the Llanelli area. In 2001 he became the Divisional Training Officer for Carmarthenshire, and then qualified to the rank of Inspector. He was promoted to Lampeter as Section Inspector in 2004 before coming back to Carmarthenshire in 2006.  He covered the Human Resources role in Carmarthenshire as Temporary Chief Inspector before starting in Ammanford as Neighbourhood Policing Inspector in 2008. His favourite aspects of the role are helping people and making a difference to the community.

Sergeant Teresa Ross 810

  •  Teresa Ross

    Sergeant Teresa Ross is a local resident from Ammanford and is married with four children. She joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 2000, where her first posting was to Carmarthen town. Teresa went on to work as a Detective Constable for three years, covering the Carmarthenshire area. She was promoted to Sergeant in January 2006 and is also qualified to Inspector level. Teresa is now the local Sergeant for the Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Team and is looking forward to working closely with the communities in which she has lived and served as a police officer.

PC Sarah Yelland-Davies 141

  • Sarah Yelland-Davies

    Sarah Yelland-Davies was born and brought up in the town of Llandeilo and has been a Police Constable with Dyfed-Powys Police since September 2003.  She served the community of Llanelli for four years, and in 2007 worked in the rural neighbourhoods of Llandeilo and Llandovery. Sarah says “since transferring to Ammanford and joining the Neighbourhood Policing Team, I am excited with the prospect of working with a dedicated and focussed team of officers and partner agencies, who are determined that the public’s needs and expectations in their area are at the forefront of neighbourhood policing’s priorities”.

PCSO Alan Davies 8043

  • Alan Davies

    PCSO Alan Davies has worked for Dyfed-Powys Police as a PCSO since October 2006. Previously he served for the Royal Air Force and more recently worked in retail. He was born and brought up in the Gwendraeth valley. He says, “Working as a PCSO I want to contribute to the policing of neighbourhoods in the area through highly visible patrol with the purpose of reassuring the public.”
