Speeding vehicles on College Road and Jobs Well Road

29/02/2012 - A speeding operation was conducted during February in response to public requests regarding the safety of road users within the Picton Terrace, College Road, Monument Hill and Jobs Well Road areas.
Following this operation a number of drivers were found at the time to be exceeding the speed limits within the above areas. The drivers were dealt with using penalty notices and participation in a Speed Awareness Course.
20/12/2011 - Further speeding operations are planned over the coming months which will run parallel with the all Wales Drink Drive Campaign.
5/10/11 - Speeding checks have been conducted in the area with the following results
Jobs Well Road: 2 reported for speed awareness programme & 1 fixed penalty notice issued
Further Liaison with Highways Department, Carmarthen County Council regarding introduction of traffic calming measures

29/02/2012 - Following recent thefts of fuel from Cillefwr Industrial Estate, Carmarthen Police have arrested suspects in connection to a potential theft from the Industrial Estate. Enquiries are continuing.
20/12/2011 - Following the meeting for business owners/managers of Cillefwr Industrial Estate, a number of businesses have registered for the Online Watch Link (OWL), this provides a two way communication link between Businesses and the Police to assist in the prevention and detection of crime.
05/10/11 - Due to the national increase in the theft of fuel and scrap metal, Carmarthen NPT have invited business owners/managers of Cillefwr Industrial Estate, Johnstown to a meeting to discuss their security, crime prevention and the launch of Business Watch. This will include setting up of the online watch link (OWL)
Late night alcohol related anti-social behaviour on College Road in the vicinity of Trinity St Davids University to Model School

A number of High Visibility patrols of the area to include Trinity University, College Road, Parcmaen and surrounding areas
Further comments made by residents within the area in a recent meeting have been positive and there is evidence that ASB had reduced in the area, residents feel that a reminder is required to students to ensure ASB doesn’t escalate again in the area.
Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to monitor the situation during the coming months, and also continue to work with the University.
Arrangements will be made for a further letter to be sent to the students via Trinity University to highlight the issues raised.
A leaflet drop will be completed by NPT to premises near Trinity University within the next 14 days. It will remind residents of the importance of reporting ASB at the time its occurrence.

Inspector Steve Lee 2032
Inspector Steve Lee joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 1996 having worked in the public service industry for 19 years. He served as a PC in Ammanford and Kidwelly police stations before becoming a sergeant. He was stationed at Llanelli, Lampeter and St. Clears before taking up his current role of Inspector based in the Carmarthen Rural Section. He said: “I am a local resident and I have found that knowing the local community has helped me identify and deal with the concerns and issues within my section. I look forward to furthering the ties already made with the local communities and our partner agencies, with the intention of reducing crime and instances of anti-social behaviour whilst developing the profile of my neighbourhood policing team”.
Sergeant Mark McSweeney 943
Sergeant Mark McSweeney has been with Dyfed Powys Police for the last two years, where he is currently working with the neighbourhood policing teams across the Carmarthen Area, including Carmarthen Town, Carmarthen North, Carmarthen West, Llangunnor and St Ishmaels. Before moving to Dyfed Powys, he served 8 years with the Metropolitan Police in London where he also worked as a Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant.
PC Craig Williams 1036
PC Craig Williams joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 2001, working in Aberystwyth and Lampeter before moving to the Carmarthenshire Division serving at Llanelli, Burry Port and Carmarthen.
During his service he has been trained as a Tutor Constable, Search Team Officer and is qualified for promotion to the next rank. He is a keen golfer and enjoys most sports along with reading military history.
He said "Having been born and brought up in Carmarthen, I believe I am aware of the community's needs through local knowledge and how to effectively deal with their concerns. I also enjoy walking in the town and speaking to various community members including residents, schools, small businesses and other community groups".
PCSO Sylvia Davies-Morris 8024
PCSO Sylvia Davies-Morris joined Dyfed-Powys Police as a PCSO in Burry Port in February 2005. She has been in Carmarthen since February 2006. She previously worked for eighteen years for HSBC bank.
