Parking outside Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn
-
CenarthWednesday, February 22, 2012Sun 11 Mar 2012
In the last Council meeting an issue was raised about cars parking outside Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn. There was a concern that these vehicles were causing an obstruction. The concern was that pupils would not be seen when crossing the road because of the way these vehicles have been parked.
22/02/2012 - Officers have spent a lot of time outside the school speaking to the owners of the vehicles and explaining to them the possible consequences of them parking their vehicles in such a position. A number of leaflets have been left on the windscreen of these cars advising them why they should not park in that position and asking them not to park there again.
Since half term there has been a great improvement in the parking of vehicles outside the school.

07/03/2012 - In the last PACT meeting a number of complaints were received about the way parents are parking their vehicles outside the school when picking their children up at the end of the day.
Officers have spent a lot of time outside the school advising parents if they have parked in a position that would cause an obstruction. This has already seen a great improvement in the way the cars have parked, resulting in no calls of vehicles causing obstructions in the area.
The school will shortly receive a letter and map from the Police advising them where vehicles should not park. These letters will then be sent home with the children son that the parents are fully aware where to park.
