Speeding Cwmfelin Road

    To monitor Speeding on Cwmfelin Road.

    22/04/2012 - Checks have been carried out in this area, however all vehicles checked were within the designated Speed limits.
    These Checks will be continuing.

    In order to tackle the issues of speeding, and raise awareness of road safety, the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out speed enforcement checks across the Ward during February.

Monitor anti social behaviour at Tir Einon Park

    The New park in Tir Eynon, Llywnhendy has been very popular, however there have been reports of ASB at the location.    There is also an issue with littering at the location.

    22/04/2012 - NPT have carried out patrols in the area, where the team has linked in with local children using the facility.  There have been no further reports at this time.  
    Partnership Agencies will be liaised with in relation to fencing and to request additional litterbins at the location.

    These patrols will be continuing.

ASB – involving use of motor vehicles

    Reports have been received of anti social use of motor vehicles in and around the Penygraig area.  This includes off road motor bikes and cars.  NPT will be actively patrolling the area to address this problem.

Inspector James Davies 2019

  • James Davies

    Inspector James Davies has over twenty years police service, most recently within Carmarthenshire at Llanelli and Carmarthen and as neighbourhood policing inspector covering the Towy-Gwendraeth area, he is also a trained police public order commander. He has previously worked in the control room at Police Headquarters in Llangunnor, and has also served in Powys and with the Metropolitan Police in London, where he worked for the first 8 years of his police career, working primarily in the West and South London areas.

Sergeant Ian Francis 1040

  • Ian Francis

    Sergeant Ian Francis is originally from the Llanelli area and joined the Met Police in 1987 working in the south east of the city, he then transferred to Dyfed-Powys Police in May 2001.  He has worked at Carmarthen, Llwynhendy, Ammanford and Burry Port and has now been posted as the Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant covering the Llwynhendy and Felinfoel policing areas.

PC Mike Richardson 414

  • PC Mike Richardson transferred to Dyfed-Powys Police from West Midlands Police in 2005. He worked initially in Milford Haven before moving back to Carmarthen, where after a period working response duties he took up position of Neighbourhood Police Officer for the Llangunnor and Tregynnor area. He began his career in the health service before joining West Midlands in 2001, where he was involved with a variety of police response work in the Oldbury area of Smethwick.

PCSO Zara Simisker 8048

  • PCSO Zara Simisker joined joined the force in January 2007 with Ystradgynlais being her first posting. She has been involved with youth schemes within Powys. She enjoys socialising with friends and exotic holidays.

PCSO Tom Edwards 8023

  • Tom Edwards

    PCSO Tom Edwards joined the West Yorkshire Police in 1976 and transferred to Dyfed Powys in 1983. He retired from the Force after thirty years service in October 2006 at the rank of Inspector and then became a PCSO  based at Llwynhendy Police Station. He says, “With my previous knowledge and experience within the police service I felt the role offered me the ideal opportunity to utilise that knowledge and experience to the benefit of the wider community. It’s just like being an old-fashioned “bobby on the beat” again which the local community crave for and appreciate.”
