Violent crime - Town Centre

    01/02/2012-This month there have been twelve calls reported three (25%) violent crimes and nine (75%) reports of sec 5 P.O. Two of the sections 5’s were believed to be of a racial nature. 

    High visibility patrols have been conducted this month specifically targeting problem areas such as Pubs, Clubs and Takeaways.  All premises have been advised re the use of sec 27 notices and that NPT are available via the store net system.This month there have been twelve calls reported three (25%) violent crimes and nine (75%) reports of sec 5 P.O.     04/01/2012 - With the Christmas period upon us the following crimes has been highlighted within the town centre.4 ABH, 2 Rape, 13 Harassment, 2 assault police and 2 common assaults and 3 section 27 notices has been issued. Llanelli town NPT has seen a significant increase in the consumption of alcohol in the town centre especially over the weekend period. NPT expect that this is down to the time of year with many persons out on their Christmas parties and having a good time.

    04/12/2011 - During the month there have been 2 section 27 notices given out in the town centre. Also during the month Town Centre have had reports of 6 assaults, 3 child neglect offences, 7 harassment and 1 racial issue. In the past four weeks there has been an increase in the amount of minor incidents relating to drinking in the town centre and the general noise nuisance. Zero tolerance has been in place to combat any future issues.

ASB in relation to skateboarding and scooters in Town Centre

    01/02/2012- We have had no calls this month in relation to Youths at the above location, however, this is due to A16 being utilised at weekends at the location.  NPT have worked hard this month speaking regularly to youths gathering at the Car Park.

    04/01/2012 - Llanelli Town NPT is experiencing a number of complaints in relation to youths gathering underneath the ramp to the multi storey car park. There is a high volume of youths attending and gathering at the location therefore as a result they are causing ASB. Due to the number of youths gathering at the location all youths are asked to leave the area.

    04/12/2011 - A number of stop checks has been issued this month in relation to youths utilising their skateboards and scooters anti socially throughout the town centre.

Sergeant Justin Evans 1024

  • Sergeant Justin Evans

    Sergeant Justin Evans joined the police in December 2000, most of his service being conducted as a Roads Policing Officer based in Llanelli. He became the Sergeant of the Llanelli Neighbourhood Policing Team in January 2009. He was brought up and educated in Burry Port, and therefore has a good knowledge of Llanelli and what is expected, as he has seen many changes growing up in the area. He hopes that his local ties and knowledge go a long way to creating a safer community. He says, “I am thoroughly enjoying the role, interacting with the community and numerous partnerships that we closely work with”.

PC Delma Jones 97

  • PC Delma Jones

    PC Delma Jones joined the force in 2005. She started in Llanelli Station in late 2005. In June 2006 following knee surgery she worked in Control room / front desk at Llanelli Station, returning to full duties in March 2007. Delma then left the core shift at Llanelli and started her new role in January 2010 as the Llanelli Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing officer alongside PCSO Rhian James.

  • Richi Wells

    PCSO Richi Wells joined Llanelli Town at the beginning of June 2010. He was previously based at Kidwelly, having joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 2007. He originally comes from Middlesborough but now lives in Burry Port. In his spare time he plays drums in an AC/DC tribute band. He likes that his work gives him the chance to be outdoors and to help people who may not be in a position to help themselves. He says, ”The thing I most enjoy about the job is that every day is different and throws up different challenges.”
