Anti-Social Behaviour with "Boy Racers" congregating and speeding in and around the town

    The Neighborhood Policing Team continues to work in partnership with Powys County Council and The Mid-Wales Roads Policing Team in order to address issues of speeding.

    17/05/2012 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to work closely with The Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit who actively patrol in the Neighbourhood area.

    04/05/2012 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to work closely with The Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit who actively patrol in the Neighbourhood area. A range of offences are targeted which not only include speeding but drink drivers, construction and use offences, Road traffic collisions/ Road Safety issues and all criminal offences.

    20/03/2012 - In order to address issues of Speeding in the Brecon area the Mid-Wales Roads Policing Unit continue to actively patrol throughout the area, with specific areas of concern being included as part of their patrol Strategy Plan.  Whilst conducting high visibility patrols, Pcso 8051 Hope observed a Quad Bike being driven on the public footpaths in Bron Y Crug. The driver of the quad was located and following interview was reported for driving offences and his vehicle was seized.

    The Neighbourhood Management Team (NMT) is dedicated in ensuring that high visibility patrols in key locations at relevant times are provided.

    17/05/2012 - High Visibility Police patrols led to the apprehension and arrest of an intoxicated male who caused damage to 6 vehicles during the early hours of the morning. The individual was eligible for an Adult Caution.

    04/05/2012 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team officers regularly carry out licensed premises checks in an attempt to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and promote the Behave or Be Banned Scheme (B.O.B.B.) Officers continue to take positive action against offenders who commit offences whilst intoxicated and in the vicinity of licensed premises. To date there are currently 10 persons serving lengthy bans.Neighbourhood Policing Officers also continually patrol “hot spot” areas in an attempt to reduce under age drinking and general youth annoyance.

    20/03/2012 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to conduct high visibility patrols in and around the town to provide reassurance, prevent crime and Anti-Social Behaviour Incidents. Officers regularly attend at the Youth Club and Brecon High School.

  • The Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) was launched in April at the Guild Hall in Brecon. This is a joint initiative between Police, Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Licensing, Powys Community Safety Partnership, Kaleidescope, Local Charities, Licensees, Powys Road Safety Partnership, Local Councillors and members of the public to reduce the volume of alcohol related crime and Anti-Social Behaviour in Brecon Town. Brecon Neighbourhood Management Team have played an integral part in setting up of the scheme, which is the first of it’s kind in Wales.

    Insp Reed joined Dyfed-Powys Police force in 1992. He is committed to working with the communities of Breconshire.

    I joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 1997 and previously served in Llanelli and in Crosshands as a Traffic Officer, before, moving to Powys as custody Sergeant in Newtown. I have now undertaken the role of Neighbourhood Management Sergeant for Breconshire and work alongside my colleague Sergeant Mal James.

    I am committed to ensuring the success of the Neighbourhood Management Team in Breconshire, where I will be tackling the issues affecting local communities. This important work will be delivered along with partnership agencies, which will ensure that the area remains one of the safest places to live, work and visit in England and Wales.

    We have a highly-professional Neighbourhood Management Team in Breconshire and I am confident that we have the skills and excellent community relationships to achieve outstanding results.

    I joined Dyfed-Powys Police force in 1986, being stationed in Llanelli. Other stations worked at include Burry Port, Tenby, Llandrindod Wells and Hay-On-Wye. I came to Brecon in 1991 and was promoted to Sgt in 2007. I have now undertaken the role of Strategic Neighbourhood Management Sergeant for Breconshire and will work alongside my colleague Sergeant Adele Pitt. This is a new role that will provide support to the existing Neighbourhood Management Teams within Breconshire. Being a local person who was educated at Brecon High School and Swansea University. I am keen to work with the communities of Breconshire and provide a service that addresses the issues that have been identified as being of concern to each community. This will be achieved with the support of our partners with whom we have already built an excellent working relationship.

PC Sara Meredith 828

    PC Sara Meredith joined Dyfed Powys in 2003, initially stationed in Llandrindod Wells, later attached to the Customer Service Unit in Powys. She is now stationed in Brecon, taking over from PC Andy Pole as an additional Beat Manager to work along side PC Steve Nichols and the Neighbourhood Policing Team. Sara lives locally and is fully aware of local issues and needs. She is a self-motivated officer and faces new challenges head-on.

    Martin joined Dyfed-Powys Police force in 2001.He enjoys working within the community and dealing with local problems. He is responsible for St Davids Ward in Brecon.

PCSO Andrew Rogers 8091

    Andy Rogers originally comes from Crumlin, a small town outside Blackwood, Gwent. He attended University and obtained a degree in Sociology with Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Cardiff. After leaving University Andy worked as a Support Worker for adults with autism and behavioural problems. Andy enjoyed this role which he found very rewarding however he has always wanted to work with the Police and applied to become a PCSO and was accepted by Dyfed Powys in March of this year and was posted to Llwynhendy. Andy is a keen sportsman particularly football, rugby and squash and supports the Gwent Dragons.

    SPC Williams has been a committed member of the police family since joining Dyfed-Powys Police in 1994, and has enjoyed a variety of roles during his service.

    He lives in Brecon with his partner and daughter and is a foreman in the construction industry and is employed by a long established local company.

    In his down time he enjoys hill walking, weight lifting and playing his guitar, mandolin and singing in his band.

    I joined Dyfed-Powys Police in March 2011. I am very keen to be seen helping the local community. I work as a caretaker in a large Secondary School in the Valleys and during my spare time I enjoy Motorsports and fitness.

    I joined Dyfed-Powys Police in March 2011. I was educated at Christ College and am currently finishing my degree in photojournalism. I chose to come to Brecon as it is the place I grew up and I am keen to work within the community that I know.

    My name is Rhodri Herbert and I joined Dyfed-Powys Police as a Special Constable in March 2011. In my leisure time I enjoy keeping fit by running and swimming and when I am not policing I am a swimming coach.
