    24/01/2012 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to provide High visibility patrols in and around the town.

    20/12/2011 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers have been conducting high visibility patrols around the town area in the run up to Christmas to deter anti-social behaviour and crime.

    13/10/2011 - The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to provide high visibility patrols in and around the town, tennis courts and Bowling Green area.
     
    PC 1015 Keane continues to work in partnership with Crickhowell Scouts to assist them in achieving their Community Service badge. Community activities continue in November.

    24/01/2012 - The Mid-Wales Roads Policing Unit, Unmarked Police Vehicles and Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers continue to work together to ensure that all rural areas are regularly patrolled to target and prevent crime.

  • With the general increase of incidents involving Rogue Traders, PCSO Harries has spoken to all local gardening businesses who have agreed to distribute crime prevention advice to elderly local residents. Powys County Council has also warned consumers to be on the look out for rogue traders, after elderly and vulnerable residents were targeted by conmen in the South of the county.

    Inspector Steve Thomas joined Dyfed-Powys Police in July 1999 and started his police career in Pembroke Dock.  In 2001 he transferred to Llanelli where he enjoyed working as a response officer, a Detective constable and Sergeant of CID.

    He has also worked as a Sergeant in Section Stations and is fully aware of community issues that concern members of the public. In June 2010 he was promoted to Inspector and is committed to working with the communities of Breconshire.

    I joined Dyfed Powys Police in April 1985 and have served in the county of Powys at Brecon, Newtown and Ystradgynlais Police Stations. I have worked within the Road Traffic Department, as a Custody Sergeant and as a Response Sergeant.

    I have now undertaken the role of Neighbourhood Management Sergeant for Breconshire and will work alongside my colleague Sergeant Adele Pitt. This is a new role that will provide support to the existing Neighbourhood Management Teams within Breconshire.

    Being a local person who was educated at Brecon High School I am keen to work with the communities of Breconshire and provide a service that addresses the issues that have been identified as being of concern to each community. This will be achieved with the support of our partners with whom we have already built an excellent working relationship.

Sergeant Adele Pitt 960

    I joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 1997 and previously served in Llanelli and in Crosshands as a Traffic Officer, before, moving to Powys as custody Sergeant in Newtown. I have now undertaken the role of Neighbourhood Management Sergeant for Breconshire and work alongside my colleague Sergeant Rod Bowen.

    I am committed to ensuring the success of the Neighbourhood Management Team in Breconshire, where I will be tackling the issues affecting local communities. This important work will be delivered along with partnership agencies, which will ensure that the area remains one of the safest places to live, work and visit in England and Wales.

    We have a highly-professional Neighbourhood Management Team in Breconshire and I am confident that we have the skills and excellent community relationships to achieve outstanding results.

  • PC Mark Keane is a specialist neighbourhood officer. He has excellent community contacts and uses these to address local issues and those arising from PACT meetings.

    PCSO Lloyd Harries covers Hay, Talgarth and Crickhowell and deals solely with local neighbourhood issues arising from patrol or local PACT meetings.

    SPC Lee Garrett joined as a Special Constable in April 2010. He lives in Abergavenny with his wife and enjoys cooking and walking in his free time.

    He enjoys working with the community and dealing with local problems, helping to sort them out.
