    12/03/2012 - Requests to stop vehicles using Wernddu lane Newtown as a cut through similar problems at Hendomen, both are access only roads.

    20/04/11 - Hendomen Lane had been targeted by officers in relation to residents complaining about vehicles using the access only road as a cut through, police will continue to visit the area. Partnership visit in company with Powys County Council Highways being arranged.

    12/03/2012 - Newtown NPT have arrested and charged a male with theft of a debit card and cash, this was in connection with an elderly lady who was targeted in Montgomery.

Inspector John Tatton 2097

  • John Tatton

    Inspector Tatton joined the Metropolitan Police in 1990 and transferred to Dyfed Powys Police in 2000. He has had a varied career both in CID and Uniform. He has resided in Abermule since 2001 and therefore has working knowledge of Newtown and it’s surrounding areas. He hopes to undertake his role as the local Inspector by fully supporting the Neighbourhood Policing Teams to fully integrate themselves into their respective communities, building safer communities, providing customer satisfaction and continuing to work in partnership with other agencies.

PC Huw Morgan 653

  • PC Huw Morgan joined Dyfed Powys Police in 1990 and holds the portfolio of Beat Manager for the rural communities which lie outside the town of Newtown. In the past Huw has worked at Llandrindod Wells and Welshpool including positions as Rural Officer and as a member of the Targeting Unit. Huw has worked extensively upon the Roads Policing Unit and now frequently utilises this experience to resolve road related matters in the Rural Communities.

PCSO Gwyn Bufton 8049

  • As Rural Police Community Support Officer, PCSO Gwyn Bufton has the portfolio for serving the rural communities which lie outside the town of Newtown. Working closely with PC Morgan (Rural Beat Manager), Gwyn is keen to regularly meet members of the community through the use of the Mobile Police Station. Gwyn has previous experience of customer relations and is keen to take an active role in the resolution of community problems.
