Llanfair Caereinion

High Visibility in the town area especially the Church grounds

    • High visibility foot patrols have been carried out in the Church area. Youth stop searched and cannabis found in his possession he received a cannabis warning.

    • Patrols have been carried out by St. Mary’s well and alcohol seized for a group of youths.
    • School visits conducted by the Schools liaison officer regarding Bonfire and Halloween nights.

    • Shopkeepers spoken to and posters delivered with regards to selling flour and eggs to youths on the lead up to Halloween in order to reduce anti-social behaviour.

    • Speed Campaign carried out by Roads Policing Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Team in Meifod village with children from Meifod School and the Road Safety Officer for P.C.C. – One ticket issued.

    • Patrols in key areas of the town.

  • Community surgeries which utilised the Mobile Police Station were facilitated at Llanfair and we received a positive response from residents in the area.
     
    Police are continuing to work in partnership with Powys County Council housing department in order to alleviate a neighbour dispute.
     
    Regular foot and mobile patrols in the town following recent damage to the church window.
     
    A local male was arrested following an assault within a public house in the town and has been summonsed to court for an offence of common assault.
     
    There have been 6 calls relating to Anti-Social Behaviour (nuisance). These all relate to Neighbourhood disputes which are all being dealt with by us and our Partner Agencies.
     
    There have been no reports of theft, burglaries, RTC’s or drug related offences.
     
    We urge members of the Community to contact Police straight away if they witness any anti-social behaviour in the town on the non-emergency number 101 or if they believe the incident to more serious call 999.

  • Darren Brown

    Sergeant Darren Brown joined Dyfed/Powys Police in 1990 and has spent his career in Montgomeryshire, covering response Policing, custody Sergeant Duties and supervisory duties. Darren returned from Newtown to Welshpool as the Police Neighbourhood Management Team Supervisor in September 2010.

    ‘As the Supervisor of the Neighbourhood Management Team in the Welshpool section covering Welshpool, Llanfyllin and Llanfair Caereinion the aim of our team is to increase our support and engagement with our communities and partner agencies to provide a visible presence and to resolve quality of life issues that affect  the day to day life of our communities’.

  • PC Gayle Jones

    Police Constable Gayle Jones joined the Dyfed Powys Police in 1996 and has spent her career in North Montgomeryshire.  She joined the Neighbourhood Management Team in March 2011 and covers the area of Llanfair Caereinion.

    `My aim is to assist the community to resolve the issues that effect their daily lives and work in partnership to achieve this.'

    PCSO Tom Milne is originally from Welshpool and studied at Swansea University, graduating with a degree in History in 2007. He previously worked in the retail sector in the North Shropshire area. He is a keen golfer and footballer and enjoys all sports. He looks forward to making an impact in the Carmarthen area and will look to tackle local issues such as anti-social behaviour and dog fouling. He is thoroughly enjoying working in Carmarthen and says “I am excited to be working for Dyfed-Powys Police and aim to go on to a career as a police officer”.

    As a Police Community Support Officer within Welshpool, PCSO Sarah Bebb has the additional portfolio of forging links with the communities' schools. Drawing on her previous experience as a member of the Special Constabulary within the area she is able to utilise this experience to benefit the wider community.

    SC Richard Waldron joined the Welshpool Neighbourhood Management Team in July 2007. A former pupil of Welshpool High School, Richard is currently completing a BSc in Police Sciences at the University of Glamorgan. Richard still lives locally and enjoys working in the community he grew up in.
