  • Following concerns from local residents about the anti social behaviour in the area of the playground, football pitch and school. Foot patrols have been carried out in the area in the early evening and at night.  No further complaints have been received.

    Joint working continues with Powys County Council to address the long standing issues in Llanrhaeadr with regards the ‘door knocking’ episodes. Ongoing joint activities with PCC housing and Bobby Van to counter these long standing issues.

    There has only be 1 call relating to Anti-Social Behaviour (nuisance).

    There have been no burglaries reported to Police, 4 thefts and 4 suspicious incidents.

    We will be looking to hold a Property marking day in Llanfyllin due to the recent bike thefts in the area.

  • Darren Brown

    Sergeant Darren Brown joined Dyfed/Powys Police in 1990 and has spent his career in Montgomeryshire, covering response Policing, custody Sergeant Duties and supervisory duties. Darren returned from Newtown to Welshpool as the Police Neighbourhood Management Team Supervisor in September 2010.

    ‘As the Supervisor of the Neighbourhood Management Team in the Welshpool section covering Welshpool, Llanfyllin and Llanfair Caereinion the aim of our team is to increase our support and engagement with our communities and partner agencies to provide a visible presence and to resolve quality of life issues that affect  the day to day life of our communities’.

    As a Police Community Support Officer within Welshpool, PCSO Sarah Bebb has the additional portfolio of forging links with the communities' schools. Drawing on her previous experience as a member of the Special Constabulary within the area she is able to utilise this experience to benefit the wider community.

    SC Richard Waldron joined the Welshpool Neighbourhood Management Team in July 2007. A former pupil of Welshpool High School, Richard is currently completing a BSc in Police Sciences at the University of Glamorgan. Richard still lives locally and enjoys working in the community he grew up in.
