Tackle anti-social behaviour in Llanymynech area

    17/05/2012 - High Visibility patrols in Llanymynech.

    04/03/2012 - 3 males were ejected from a public house in Llanymynech. Police were in attendance and a public order incident was prevented.

    16/02/2012 - There have been no reports of anti-social behaviour (nuisance) in Guilsfield, and only 1 call received in Middletown, Trewern and Llanymynech.

    Our partners, Roads Policing Team report stopping a male from the Llanymynech area was stopped and was found to have no licence.

    Hotspot patrols have continued in order to reduce anti-social behaviour.

    17/05/2012 - High Visibility patrols in Guilsfield around the grandstand and school area in order to prevent anti-social behaviour.

    04/03/2012 - Welshpool NPT attended the livestock market in order to liaise with businesses and the local farming community.
    Patrols have been made in the areas identified as hot spot areas in the Guislfeild area. No anti-social behaviour has been reported.
    Farm Watch is still being pushed forward in partnership with the NFU (National Farmers Union). Senior officers are looking at ways to put the system in place, to work efficiently with the NFU’s systems.

    20/02/2012 - Patrols are being conducted in the key areas in Guilsfield.

Anti-social Behaviour in Parc Caradog, Trewern

    Partners and Communities Together (PACT) Meeting held in Trewern, this was well attended meeting with 20 members of the public turning up to discuss any issues/concerns they had. Officers have now been targeting this area on their patrols.

    17/05/2012 - High Visibility patrols around the Trewern residential estates in order to reduce anti-social behaviour.

    04/03/2012 - Welshpool NPT attended the livestock market in order to liaise with businesses and the local farming community.
    5 youths from Parc Caradog were caught causing damage to a fence in Trewern. Anti Social Behaviour referrals have been submitted to the Community Safety Partnership.

    20/02/2012 - 5 youths were caught acting in an anti-social manner at the rear of the old Little Chef building; all youths were spoken to in the presence of their parents. Anti-Social Behaviour referrals were submitted on all involved.

  • On Monday 11th July a community meeting was held at Guilsfield Community Centre, during the meeting it was decided that tackling Anti-social behaviour around the Community Centre and Field Games area was going to be their priority for the next few months.

  • Darren Brown

    Sergeant Darren Brown joined Dyfed/Powys Police in 1990 and has spent his career in Montgomeryshire, covering response Policing, custody Sergeant Duties and supervisory duties. Darren returned from Newtown to Welshpool as the Police Neighbourhood Management Team Supervisor in September 2010.

    ‘As the Supervisor of the Neighbourhood Management Team in the Welshpool section covering Welshpool, Llanfyllin and Llanfair Caereinion the aim of our team is to increase our support and engagement with our communities and partner agencies to provide a visible presence and to resolve quality of life issues that affect  the day to day life of our communities’.

  • Andy Price

    PC Andy Price joined in 2001 and has been stationed in Welshpool for his whole career. He is an experienced police officer who has spent time working in the Prisoner Handling Unit at Newtown. Andy was brought up on a farm before leaving school and joining the army in 1979; since then he has been a head herdsman on a busy farm near Ellesmere, as well as being a manager at a food factory before joining the police. Andy is a qualified pilot and loves to spend his spare time in the air when the weather permits.

    Joined Dyfed Powys Police in March 2010, first posting was to Carmarthen Town where I spent 18 months as a PCSO before transferring to Welshpool Neighbourhood Police Team in December 2011.
    I have grown up in the Welshpool area and was a pupil at Llanfechain Primary School and Llanfyllin High School.
    I have good local knowledge and like to engage with all members of the community.  I enjoy tackling Anti-Social Behaviour issues, engaging with youths and intelligence gathering.  I will also be acting as the Behave or Be Banned scheme liaison officer for Welshpool Town, helping to reduce incidents of alcohol related crime and disorder.

    As a Police Community Support Officer within Welshpool, PCSO Sarah Bebb has the additional portfolio of forging links with the communities' schools. Drawing on her previous experience as a member of the Special Constabulary within the area she is able to utilise this experience to benefit the wider community.

    SC Richard Waldron joined the Welshpool Neighbourhood Management Team in July 2007. A former pupil of Welshpool High School, Richard is currently completing a BSc in Police Sciences at the University of Glamorgan. Richard still lives locally and enjoys working in the community he grew up in.
