Monitor ill-legal ‘Off-Roading’ activities around the Rhayader area
14/02/11 - Rhayader Neighbourhood Management officers have been patrolling the Elan Valley area in search of ill-legal off-roading activities being carried out. 1 x warning letter has been issued to the registered owner of a 4 x 4 visiting the area.
Powys Armed Response officers and Rhayader Neighbourhood Management officers have been monitoring the area of Pantydwr and Bwlch y Sarnau, to establish if persons are still utilising the area for ill-legal off-roading activities. It has been established that persons are still trying to gain access through forestry land around the area – even though the boundary routes have been blocked off by barriers / boulders. As a result of information received several Anti-Social Behaviour referral forms have been submitted to Powys County Council regarding off-roading visitors to the area. Also, as a result several of these persons, have been found to be in illegal possession of cannabis: 3 x Warnings issued, 1 x Fix Penalty Notice issued.
29/03/11 - Powys Armed Response officers and Rhayader Neighbourhood Management officers are still monitoring the areas of Elan Valley, Pantydwr and Bwlch y Sarnau, to establish if persons are continuing to visit the area for ill-legal off-roading activities and illegally using Elan Valley Trust and Forrestry Commission grounds.
