Tue 14 Dec 2010
Llanelli police are appealing for information from rugby fans following an alleged homophobic incident at a recent match between Llanelli and Neath on Monday 15th November.
Referee at the game, Nigel Owens, claimed a remark was directed at him which he deemed to be of a homophobic nature.
“Mr Owens says he has never before been subjected to such comments during a match,” said PC Wendy Janas. “The comments were made just before the whistle went for half time. If anyone heard anything which might assist us with our inquiries, I’d ask them to contact Llwynhendy police station on 101.”
