Felinfoel footballers benefit from Police grant.
Felinfoel AFC has been awarded a grant of £500 from
Dyfed Powys Police’s incentivisation fund and has used the money to buy new
training and match day kit for the players.
The squad is small local side, but does a lot of good work in
the community. So much so that the local bobby, PC Steve Kettle, felt they
deserved a boost.
“Felinfoel
AFC members are supportive locally and are involved in numerous projects with
Communities First Felinfoel,” he said. “This funding, which has provided
training and match day kit for the club, will help improve their
professionalism and self esteem as club members.
“This
is just one of the ways the force hopes to encourage positive community
relations, and some of the players have even shown interest in joining our
local neighbourhood watch. “
“We at Felinfoel AFC
would like to thank PC Steve Kettle for his efforts in gaining us sponsorship
for our match day tops,” said the club’s Neil Davies. “We will take great pride
in wearing them every week to match fixtures.
“We are a small village club are very appreciative of any
sponsorship to make our club more efficient and professional in our efforts to
run our club, and this donation was outstanding to say the least.”
The money’s come from the Force’s incentivisation fund. This fund
is made up of money that’s been recovered as proceeds of crime from convicted
criminals, which is then ploughed it back into our local communities.
