New 'cold case' team charge male

Dyfed-Powys Police has charged a 49 year-old male for a sexual offence, which took place in 1994.

Andrew James Rimmer, from Milford Haven, was arrested on 28 November following the creation of a new team to help with major crime and investigate cold cases.

Rimmer appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on 30 November and charged with Attempted Rape and Burglary with Intent to Rape.

His female victim, who has since died, was 69 years-old at the time of the offence, which occurred at a Warden Controlled Housing Facility on Sunday 6 February 1994 in Hanover Court in Robert Street, Milford haven.

DCI Andy Williams, from the Major Crime Support Team, said: “Serious unsolved crimes are never closed in Dyfed-Powys Police and we continue to review and investigate them in a bid to get justice for the victims and their families."

This arrest and subsequent charge was achieved due to a review of the original inquiry and forensic evidence.
