Police satisfied attempt abduction was a false alarm
Detectives who have been investigating claims of an attempted abduction are satisfied that it was a false alarm.
Two young boys, aged six and ten, had been playing in a lane and the younger one alleged he was approached by a man who asked him to go with him to his house for a present. At this point his older brother intervened and the man left the lane.
Detective Inspector Gary Phillips said, “I totally understand the concern felt by the parents of these young children and we have fully investigated their allegations. A very good CCTV system in Burry Port clearly highlights inconsistencies in what they have told us and I am satisfied that this investigation can now be concluded. Please be reassured that we take these types of allegations exceptionally seriously and we will investigate them thoroughly in every case.”
