ASB driving Op yields results
Dyfed-Powys Police is helping to ensure that the County’s roads are safer following a second vehicle seizure for anti-social driving in Haverfordwest in the past month.
The recent successful operation, which took place on 7 December, resulted in Police seizing a vehicle of a known anti-social driver following complaints from residents.
Police received calls from a variety of local people regarding inconsiderate and anti-social driving. And under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, Police Officer’s based in Haverfordwest worked quickly to ensure the offender was identified and apprehended. This resulted in the seizure of a BMW 316 at the Multi-storey Car Park in the town centre, which was also the location of the previous seizure.
In addition to increasing road safety, the operation also helped to alleviate public concern in relation to anti-social use of vehicles within the area.
Sergeant Fintan Godkin said: “Thanks to community engagement Dyfed-Powys Police were able to respond effectively and efficiently, which resulted in an Anti-Social Driver having his vehicle confiscated.
“I would like to thank the public for their continuing support to help us keep our roads safer. The Officers involved were delighted with the result and Dyfed-Powys Police is committed to maintaining the momentum.”
