Students embrace graffiti art!
Under the Tunnel: The Art Students really enjoyed the initiative
Thanks to Art Students at Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest, the Prendergast underpass has received a makeover!
PCSO’s Mark John and Liam Woodford helped organise the fourth Haverfordwest Graffiti project, which included Year 11 students.
The innovative students created their own designs, which centred on the future of Haverfordwest and incorporated the words: improve, include and inspire.
As part of the initiative, which counts towards their Art GCSE course work, they also worked with Professional Graffiti artists to help brighten up a dull and dirty section of wall.
The project was funded by Prendergast Counsellor Mark Edwards and Eddies Nightclub. PCSO Liam Woodford also wanted to thank the Pembrokeshire County Council for their permission, he said: “This was a fantastic event for the school, the children involved and the local community of Prendergast.
“In addition to it being a success both creatively and academically, it also enabled the students to interact with their peers and professional artists.”
