Hawthorn bushes stolen from freshly planted hedgerow

Junior hawthorn bushes worth hundreds of pounds have been stolen from a freshly planted hedgerow near to Llanddowror.

Up to 96 plants have been pulled out some time between Christmas Eve and Wednesday 18th January 2012.

“It appears that someone’s come here to a hedgerow at the side of the road and just pulled out and removed about 96 junior hawthorn bushes,” said Sergeant Rhian Curtis. “It’s going to cost a couple of hundred pounds if not more to replace these.

“I’d ask anyone who may have seen something to get in touch, as well as anyone who has been offered such plants for sale. If you do have information which can help please contact police at Carmarthen on 101.”
