Witness appeal following collision between bike and car.

Police in Newtown are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a push bike and a car on the Penrhos junction between Four Crosses and Arddleen on the A483.

The accident, which happened at 4.40pm on Thursday 5th January, led to the road being closed for six hours.

"We had a call that there had been a road traffic collision between a black Volkswagen Polo car and a BMX pushbike being ridden by a fourteen year old boy," said Sergeant Sean Westlake of the Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit. "The teenager was taken first to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and later transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital. His condition is said to be critical.

“I would ask any member of the public who may have witnessed the accident or has any information relevant to it to please contact police at Newtown Police Station on 101.
