Motorist dies following road traffic collision on A470 near Llangurig

A young woman has died following a road traffic collision on the A470 between Rhyader and Llangurig.

The accident happened four miles outside Llangurig around 6.40pm on Wednesday 1st February. Two vehicles were involved, a black Ford Mondeo and Silver Daewoo Matiz.

The driver of the Matiz, a woman from the local area believed to be in her twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers investigating the collision are now hoping to hear from anyone who saw either of these two vehicles in the area at the relevant time or who may have seen the accident,” said Inspector Mark Davies from the Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit. “Anyone with information which they think is relevant can contact officers at Newtown Police Station on 101.”
