Multi-cultural event planned for diverse Ammanford communities
Neighbourhood police in Ammanford are gearing up for a multi-cultural event which aims to bring together people from different backgrounds and with different nationalities and religious beliefs.
The team held a similar event earlier this year and its success has led to officers organising another.
“This event will be held on Sunday 4th March in the main hall of Amman Valley School, from 2-5pm,” said Sergeant Teresa Ross. “The aim is to bring people from all different strands of diversity together and to improve community engagement and cohesion.
“Our last to similar events have been extremely successful and attracted a large audience including people of French, Turkish, Greek and Korean descent among many others. We’ve held a general knowledge quiz, watched some traditional dancing from other countries and had cooking demonstrations together with some food sampling.
“Members of the community have also had an opportunity to speak with their local NPT officers and tell us about their views of what the policing priorities should be in their areas.
“I hope this next event attracts as much support and welcome anyone who can make it to pop along.”
