Update on Meeting with the Thai Authorities
Senior Detectives from Dyfed Powys Police flew out to Bangkok on the weekend to meet with officers from the Department of Special Investigation in Thailand.
They wanted to ensure that the Authorities were still committed to finding the offender who murdered Kirsty Jones in Chiang Mai in August 2000.
Speaking after the meeting, Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Wilkins said, “We have had a very positive meeting with the Director General and Officers from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) today. We have been able to secure their continued commitment to search for and bring to justice the person who murdere
“We discussed and agreed lines of enquiry focussed around DNA. We also talked about some other possible avenues for the investigation, but I will be discussing these with the family before taking them any further.”
