ALL WALES ANTI DRINK / DRUG DRIVING CAMPAIGN UPDATE
This Christmas Dyfed Powys Police, in line with the All Wales campaign, are actively targeting drivers who risk their lives and the lives of others by driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Since the campaign started at the beginning of December the force have conducted a number of high profile roadside checks and are using intelligence to identify offenders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Christmas anti Drink/Drug Drive campaigns have now been running for several years and all motorists should now be aware of the increased attention paid to drink drive over the Xmas period.
Sue Storch, Road Safety officer, said
“The aim is to change attitudes to drink driving, increase road safety and catch offenders. The public will see an increased number of road side checks and the advice is always not to drink/ use drugs and drive.
If you have been drinking in the evening you may well be affected by alcohol the next day. Consider using another method of transport until you are certain that you no longer have any alcohol in your system.”
If you have information relating to someone you think is driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs, please contact police on 101. In an emergency always call 999.
