22 year old man convicted and sentenced to 11 years for rape
A 22 year old man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after being found guilty of two rape offences by Caernarfon Crown Court on Friday 15th February following an eight day trial.
Parminder Chohan Singh was living between Wolverhampton and Newtown at the time of the offences, which took place in the Newtown area in July 2012.
“In passing sentence, His Honour described SINGH as “…an arrogant, self -centred bully with no respect for women, he considered them to be on earth for his sexual gratification only to then be cast aside…” and I couldn’t put it any better,” said Detective Inspector Diane Davies. “Again, I find myself humbled that victims of such truly despicable offences show remarkable strength of character in standing up and being counted.
“This has been a very challenging investigation and trial and I hope that the victims will find some comfort in the convictions and sentence.”
