Narberth Neighbourhood Policing Team

Local Priorities

Updated: 08/03/10
  1. Anti-social behaviour in Kilgetty – this will continue as a priority and patrols and community engagement will continue
  2. Parking outside Narberth School in Jesse Road, causing obstructions and damage to the grass verge
  3. To deter any anti-social behaviour in Garfield Gardens

What We Have Done

  • Anti-social behaviour in Kilgetty
Officers continue patrols in the area particularly on a weekend. Repeat victims have been visited and reassured of actions that are taking place. The team have visited the homes of the main suspects and spoken to them in the presence of parents / guardians. In addition they have also been issued with warning letters from Pembrokeshire Housing Association stating that their tenancies may be at risk. This problem has now been brought to the attention of the Anti-Social Behaviour Committee and the team have launched a joint initiative with housing, the Anti-Social Behaviour Reduction Officer and the Housing Association Officer to target the parents and children of the area who appear to be repeat offenders / suspects of this unacceptable behaviour. Plans have now been approved for a community play area and facilities for use of the youth of the area and that extra funding had been applied for by the team to assist with this project.
  • Parking problems outside Narberth School
Attention is being paid by the team around the school area during drop off and pick up times. The team have monitored the situation and it appears that the major problem reported was caused by the adverse wintry weather. However the team will continue to pay attention and advise accordingly. Cones have been placed along the verge outside the school and parents that park on the verge should be aware that they are causing an obstruction to people crossing the road.
  • Seatbelt / Restraint campaign
Unfortunately the planned event with the Roads Policing Unit was cancelled at short notice. However in the meanwhile whilst visiting schools with fluorescent vests some advice was given to parents in the car parks of the schools.
