Pembroke Dock Neighbourhood Policing Team
Local Priorities
- South Pembrokeshire golf club – ongoing issues
- People cycling on the pavements
- Illegal Parking within Pembroke Dock
What We Have Done
- Speeding along Pembroke Road and The High Street and Treowen Road Pennar
PCSO John and PC Zroud had attended the above locations throughout the month of August with the speed gun and had issued several speeding fines and seatbelt fines. It was agreed that the team would approach the Headteacher of Pembroke Secondary School at the beginning of this term in September, to discuss the possibility of him approaching the council regarding the 20mph speed limit sign. - People cycling on the pavements
This has been addressed by words of advice by the team. There has been a slight reduction but the members felt that there were still too many adults continuing to ride on pavements. PCSO Griffiths has planned work in September with cycling proficiency and it will also involve the parents.
Area
The area covered by the Pembroke Dock team includes the town centre, the market (including the dockyard), Llanion (including Bush Estate and Hobbs Point) and Pennar (including Bufferland and Llanraeth).

PCSO Kelly John

PCSO Kelly John joined Dyfed-Powys Police as a traffic warden and progressed to the position of PCSO in March 2007. Based within the Pembroke Neighbourhood Policing Team, Kelly has been assigned responsibility for the Lamphey, Freshwater East and St. Michaels Wards. Kelly has built up very strong relationships with the local primary and secondary schools within the local area, assisting in breaking down barriers between the police and the local children. Kelly has also developed close links with the Special Learning Centre, the Autism Centre and the Nurture Group of Pembroke Comprehensive School enabling the police to foster relationships with hard to reach groups within the local community. This enables us to reinforce community ties, allowing us to get to know the children in an enjoyable and relaxed environment. As a local resident herself, Kelly is keen to help address community issues and problems affecting people in the local area.
