If you live in the Dyfed-Powys Police area and have been required to register with the police (an essential part of many foreign nationals’ visa conditions), you need to visit one of the police stations below. It would be best to choose the police station closest to where you live.

You don't need to make an appointment.

Please download, fill in, print and sign our overseas visitor registration form: you need to bring this form with you. Please see our full list of what to bring with you to register as an overseas visitor.

When to attend

You must visit one of these police stations to register and get your police registration certificate (PRC) within seven days of arriving in the UK. This is important, because if you don't you may face:

  • a £5,000 fine
  • a prison sentence
  • recommendation of deportation
  • a ten-year ban on entering the UK

We'll give you your PRC after you complete registration.

Unsure if you need to register? Read our advice for first time visitors: who needs to register as a foreign national?

When your details change

If you change any of your personal or contact details whilst studying or working in the Dyfed-Powys Police area, you'll need to update your certificate with us as detailed above.

You must report any of the following changes within seven days:

  • change of address
  • change of college/university/course
  • change of occupation
  • change in marital status
  • new landing conditions (re-entry visa)
  • new passport details
  • children once they are aged 16 or over
  • exemption from Police Registration

When you transfer to the Dyfed-Powys Police area

If you're already registered with another force and you move to Dyfed-Powys, you now need to update your certificate by coming to one of the police stations above.

If you lose your certificate

If you've lost your police registration certificate, please come to one of the police stations above to get a replacement. The new certificate will cost £34.

Please see our full checklist of what to bring with you when you visit us.
