Powys North is a predominantly rural area defined by its rolling landscapes and historic towns. At its centre is Newtown, the largest town in Powys, nestled in a valley on River Severn. The area includes the nearby communities of Caersws and Llanidloes. The town of Welshpool lies just four miles from the English border. This market town is home to the impressive Powis Castle, a medieval fortress surrounded by renowned gardens.
