Detective Chief Superintendent Shane Williams

Detective Chief Superintendent Shane Williams is Head of Dyfed Powys Police CID and has spent most of his 27 years-service working within the Investigations Department. He has extensive experience in investigating and leading on covert and high profile overt investigations in his capacity as a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and has worked in every rank within the department. Prior to returning to Dyfed Powys Police in November 2017 he was head of the Regional Organised Crime Unit – Tarian, leading seconded officers and police staff from the three Southern Wales Forces in the fight against organised crime, working closely with partners and the National Crime Agency. He is an accredited SIO and represents Wales in his capacity as a member of a national working group in respect of Kidnap and Extortion.

Outside of work Mr Williams has a keen interest in sport and is chairman of Dyfed Powys Police Rugby and is also a member of the British Police Rugby Committee. He is a loyal supporter of Laugharne RFC where he was brought up.

He is a proud member of Dyfed Powys Police and is absolutely delighted and privileged to return to his home force as Head of Investigations and is committed to delivering a high standard of service to the communities we serve and live in.
