Claire Parmenter holds a BA (hons) Degree in Education having studied at Cardiff.
Claire joined Dyfed Powys Police in 1993, and has served in a variety of Uniform and Specialist roles across the Dyfed Powys Police area. In March 2007 Claire took up a National role as a Field Officer for the National Policing Improvement Agency holding responsibility for seven police forces across the South West of England, supporting their implementation of Neighbourhood Policing and the Citizen Focus Agenda.
She returned to Force in 2008 to take up the position as staff officer to the Deputy Chief Constable. Following that role Claire led the Force Professionalising Customer Services Programme, reforming the provision of call handling and the introduction of customer service units across the force.
Claire has also undertaken a secondment as an Operational Chief Inspector in Avon and Somerset Constabulary having territorial responsibility for North Bristol.
