If you would like to make a request for your personal information, this should be done through a subject access enquiry under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
The act controls how your personal information is used by organisations, businesses or the government. As an organisation we are bound by the act to provide any information we may hold about you should you request it, subject to exemptions, and to ensure any data we hold is treated in a responsible manner.
The Data Protection Act provides the right for an individual to request a copy of personal information held. This is known as Subject Access. Anyone can apply for Subject Access to use the information for their own purposes, but you shouldn't be required to provide the information as the basis for a condition of employment or a contract for goods or services, nor can you apply for Subject Access on behalf of someone else.
Subject to exemptions, anyone making a request has the right to be told if information exists and the right to receive it. In general, a response must be provided within 40 working days.
