Emergency Services are encouraging people to be good monsters this Halloween by giving out posters to be displayed in windows to show trick or treaters where they are welcome.
The posters are available from your local Neighbourhood Policing Team or can be downloaded from the BANG campaign section at www.dyfed-powys.police.uk.
Similar posters have also been produced for shops, letting people know about restrictions on the sale of eggs and flour during the celebrations.
The initiative forms part of the all-Wales Operation Be a Nice Guy (BANG).
Dyfed Powys Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Community Safety Partnerships are working together to encourage people to be safe while having fun over Halloween and Bonfire Night.
Inspector Ian Richards said:
“Halloween and Bonfire Night is a great time of year for people of all ages to have fun and celebrate, but we have to show consideration for those who do not want to take part.
“With celebrations comes the risk of situations escalating and behaviour getting out of hand.
“I urge homeowners to make use of the posters and for anyone trick or treating to make sure they are good monsters and only visit homes where posters are displayed and they know they are welcome.”
PC Lynne Melly said:
“Children and adults have a role to play in ensuring that Halloween is both safe and fun. Anti-social behaviour can have a severe negative impact upon the communities of Dyfed Powys and upon the people this behaviour affects.
“We are working with communities to educate and prevent anti-social behaviour before it happens, but I also urge people to be mindful of how their behaviour could make others feel and remember that not everyone wants to be spooked this Halloween.”
Dyfed Powys Police will take action against anyone committing acts of anti- social behaviour. Remember if you are experiencing anti- social behaviour you can call 101.
