During the afternoon of Saturday 6th May 2017, HM Coastguard and RNLI teams have been involved in a search for a man, who had been seen in the sea off St.Davids Head, near Whitesands, St.Davids, Pembrokeshire. It was suspected that he was in difficulty.

The man has not been found, and Dyfed Powys Police are currently trying to determine his identity.

The description given of the man is as follows:

White European, aged in his 60’s, of lean build, had a long face, short hair (colour unknown), and vivid/distinctive white coloured eyebrows. He was wearing a dark coloured day rucksack, dark blue/black coloured trousers, and a dark blue long sleeved shirt or jumper.

A brown coloured sheepskin bomber type jacket was found near to the scene where the man had been last seen in the sea, which possibly belongs to the man in question.

Inspector Aled Davies said: “Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing to anyone with any information that may assist us in identifying this man or his recent movements, to make contact with us as a matter of urgency by calling 101.”
