Local area: Carmarthen Town

Action

Foot patrols will be carried out throughout the evenings and weekends in Carmarthen town centre, especially Lammas Street and King Street to tackle alcohol related anti social behaviour.

Any person identified in alcohol related incidents in or around Public houses in Carmarthen Town Centre will be referred to the Behave Or Be Banned scheme (BOBB). This scheme is run by the licensees with cooperation from the police. Regular meeting are held to discuss any referrals and impose appropriate banning orders.

There are currently 3 people on the Behave Or Be Banned list, with 4 people to be added from January. The next meeting is due to be held in March. A time and date is to be arranged, but could I ask that as many licensees attend as possible to support the meeting.

 The last Behave Or Be Banned meeting was again held in The Boars Head Hotel and there are currently 14 people on the list. The next meeting will be held in May.

01 March 2017

From mid-January through to the end of February there were 45 reports of shoplifting made to Police in Carmarthen. As a result 13 people have been added to the Steal and be Banned Scheme, and one ban has been extended by 12 months. Police are conducting daily patrols of the town centre and continue to engage with stores and security officers within Carmarthen to reduce the level of shoplifting throughout the town.

23 January 2017

The Christmas period was a busy time for the Steal and Be Banned scheme. A total of 55 reports of shoplifting were made to police in Carmarthen between 1st November and mid-December. At the start of December 10 people were added to the SABB scheme, and one ban was extended by 6 months. In January 5 People were added to the scheme and one ban was extended by 6 months. During the month of December, Carmarthen Neighbourhood Policing Team also carried out a number of high visibility shoplifting operations in Carmarthen Town Centre and Pensarn area to reduce the level of shoplifting over the festive period.

29 September 2016

For the months of August through to September there were 35 reports of shoplifting made to Police in Carmarthen. As a result five people have been added to the Steal and be Banned Scheme, 2 warning letters have been issued and one ban has been extended by 6 months. Police are continuing to engage with stores and security officers within Carmarthen to reduce the level of shoplifting throughout the town.

23 calls were made to police with regards to anti-social behaviour in Carmarthen Town during the month of December. Carmarthen Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to carry out regular patrols in the town centre with the view of reducing anti-social behaviour.

25 calls were made to police with regards to anti-social behaviour in Carmarthen Town during the month of November. Carmarthen Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to carry out regular patrols in the town centre with the view of reducing anti-social behaviour.

17 November 2017

32 calls were made to police with regards to anti-social behaviour in Carmarthen Town during the month of October. 4 anti-social behaviour referrals have been sent to Gwalia as a result of some of the calls. Carmarthen Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to carry out regular patrols in the town centre with the view of reducing anti-social behaviour.
