Action

As the winter period arrives the scope for offences of theft of heating oil could increase. Officers are reminding homeowners to protect their heating oil supplies to prevent any theft from storage tanks. Be aware of your oil levels and check frequently. Where possible keep your levels low and the same when refilling. Speak to your supplier with regards to a more frequent but smaller delivery If you have a plastic tank, consider erecting fencing around the tank with one end hinged and locked for filling purposes.

25/02/2015 - Patrols have continued to be conducted in the area, paying particular attention to the rural areas. Home owners using oil are reminded to ensure that their property is kept secure as heating oil is an ideal target at this time of year in particular.

After liaising with the local town council of Whitland and the community, it has been identified that speeding through this area will be a priority for our Neighbourhood Policing Team.

St. Clear’s Neighbourhood Policing Team is currently looking at dates to conduct speed checks in the area. Drivers are reminded that the speed limit is 30mph.

25 February 2015

25/02/2015 - Speed control checks have been conducted on the 8th and 12th of December. No tickets have been issued as of yet however we will continue to conduct checks in the area. It was also brought to our attention that people are flashing to signal for oncoming vehicles to slow down to avoid detection should they be speeding. Drivers caught doing so have been advised that this is an offence by means of perverting the course of justice and those caught doing so could face prosecution.

Action

Whitland Neighbourhood Policing Team has been made aware of an issue with speeding around the Cross Inn area, Laugharne. Officers are currently working towards establishing dates to conduct speed checks in the area.

Local residents have raised concerns in relation to speeding in the Cross Inn, Laugharne and area.  We will be working alongside Road Policing Units to help reduce and tackle the speeding issues.  We are also looking for volunteers from the community to join our Community Speed Watch programme which is being finalised with a view of being launched in the near future.

On Friday 23/10/2015 speed checks were conducted on Pendine Hill. There were no issues with regards to manner of driving whilst officers were at scene.

It has been brought to police attention that vehicles are speeding through Llangain village. The public are reminded that there are varied speed restrictions in the area. St. Clears NPT is now looking at dates to target speeding in the area.

If you have a tank to store heating oil there are some simple steps that can help prevent heating oil thefts. 1) Consider putting a lock on the tank. 2) Consider CCTV. 3) Improve any lighting over the tank. 4) Try to secure any access to the tank. If you suspect any suspicious activity that requires immediate attention please dial 999, for non-emergencies dial 101.

A number of vehicles were checked with four vehicles identified as having valuables on display. The registered keepers of these vehicles will now receive a letter advising them. Please ensure your valuables are kept out of sight.
