Local area: St Clears, Llanboidy and Trelech

Whitland NPT will be targeting Speeding and driving in an antisocial manner in the St Clears and Llanddowror area.


19 April 2017

Speed Checks were conducted on 19/04/17 on Llangynin Road with 1 ticket issued along with several warnings.

14 November 2016

Further dates are being arranged with the Roads Policing Unit to conduct more speed checks within the area of St Clears and Llanddowror over the next couple of weeks.

30 September 2016

On the morning of Friday 30th September, speed checks were  conducted at Pwll Trap/ St Clears hill and also the A477 to Llanddowror near to the Savoy restaurant . Numerous cars were given warnings with a total of 3 being issued with speeding tickets.

Following feedback from the community, the Carmarthenshire RPU team together with the Whitland NPT  team, will be conducting speed checks in the St Clears/Pwll Trap & Llanddowror area in the up and coming weeks.

18 May 2016

Local residents have raised concerns in relation to speeding in the Meidrim and area.  We will be working alongside Road Policing Units to help reduce and tackle the speeding issues.  We are also looking for volunteers from the community to join our Community Speed Watch programme which is being finalised with a view of being launched in the near future.

•   These areas are to be targeted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team who will use a hand held speeding device to monitor motorists.
•   Liaison with Road Policing Unit to monitor motorists.
•   Liaison with Highways Department with Carmarthen County Council regarding introduction of traffic calming measures

With the school holidays and the summer weather now here, St. Clears NPT is aware that Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) may begin to increase. St. Clears NPT will therefore be conducting regular patrols with a view of addressing any ASB issues that may arise. Please be mindful of others, and have a fantastic summer!

If you have a tank to store heating oil there are some simple steps that can help prevent heating oil thefts. 1) Consider putting a lock on the tank. 2) Consider CCTV. 3) Improved lighting over the tank. 4) Try to secure the access to the tank. If you suspect any suspicious activity that requires immediate attention please dial 999, for non-emergencies dial 101.

There has been a spate of burglaries in the St Clears area over the past few weeks. During this time the community of St Clears will see an increased police presence in the area throughout the day and night. Members of public are being reminded to ensure their properties are secure and no valuables are easily visible / accessible.

In recent weeks there has been a spate of thefts from motor vehicles. These crimes have been committed in St Clears and across the Carmarthenshire area.

Please ensure that your vehicles are kept locked at all times and that no valuables are on show.


07 July 2016

On 29/06/2016 officers conducted checks on vehicles in the St. Clears area to identify any valuables on show. A number of vehicles were checked with four vehicles identified as having valuables on display. The registered keepers of these vehicles will now receive a letter advising them. Please ensure your valuables are kept out of sight.
