Haverfordwest NPT have set up a CSW Scheme at Crundale which has been publicised on Twitter. Training events have run between NPT and our volunteers, this type of collaborative work within the local community allows members of that community to make a positive contribution locally.

A CSW Scheme is currently being set up in Solva and officers have been in contact with members of that local community who have put their names forward to be trained as Community Speed Watch volunteers.

All other ares within the Section will be considered.

Rural NPT are seeking new areas to set up Community Speed Watch Schemes within the Rural Section.  If anyone is interested in getting involved please contact you local NPT.

Action

Community Messaging’ (DPCM), Dyfed-Powys Police has rolled out ‘Community Messaging’ (DPCM), a system which enables the service to issue fast time messages to its communities and enables residents to play a part in policing.

Messages received through DPCM will be relevant to the information residents provide when they sign up and could include specific crime prevention advice, direct appeals based on local incidents and information about community events near to them. DCPM will be especially useful in support of the ‘Watch’ schemes (Farm Watch, Horse Watch, Boat Watch, Neighbourhood Watch) – where very specific information needs to be communicated to a distinct community very quickly.

Over the coming months the teams will be focusing on signing individuals and businesses on the scheme.

The Team has attended a number of engagement opportunities and events within the Section during the months of June and July and have been actively engaging with members of the public personally to advise on the benefits of signing up to the Community Messaging System. This has also been promoted in the local papers, during Surgeries and on Twitter

The Team has attended a number of engagement opportunities and talks within the local community during the months of August and September and encouraging members of the public to subscribe to the DPCM System.

The Team has handed out various DPCM cards through door to door calling, community engagements and surgeries within the local community and have been signing persons up to the DPCM system and advising persons to sign up via Twitter and social media during October and as the month progresses.

Holiday ASB

Details:

Parents – support us in keeping anti-social behaviour to a minimum by making sure you know where your children are and what they’re doing.

Levels of anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Dyfed Powys are relatively low, but during school holidays we see a rise in reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) by young people.

Most are well-behaved, but a minority engage in underage drinking, use bad language, can be noisy and intimidate residents by hanging around in large groups.

Young people who engage in ASB could receive a criminal record that could affect them for life.

We will be patrolling known hotspots throughout the holiday period to keep ASB to a minimum.

Your support in this matter would be most appreciated.

Report ASB to 101 or here.
