Sexual Assaults of children in sports settings - 027/2021
I am looking for the number of reported incidences of sexual misconduct and sexual assault that have taken place in your region in the last 5 years, in a sports setting, where the victim is under the age of 18.
To summarise, the number of reports sexual misconduct and sexual assault:
in your region
- across the last 5 calendar years
- where the victim is under 18
- taken place in a sports setting (a sports hall, sports training session, match, coaching sessions, etc)
- This could be at the hands of a coach or an athlete, or simply anyone involved in the sports team/club. The perpetrator can be of any age.
I am ultimately looking to determine the prevalence of sexual crimes involving young people in a sports setting in the UK. I am contacting each police force individually for their figures.
