Please can you tell me if there is a policy in place for dog handlers to live within 30 minutes of there base station?
Response:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.
Within Dyfed-Powys police there is nothing within our policy that states an officer must live within 30 minutes of their base station. However, due to the Geographical size of the Force area when vacancies are advertised we will state that the applicant must live within a certain division (Carmarthenshire/Powys etc.) or within 30 miles/60 minutes of a designated station. This is to ensure that Dog Handlers are evenly distributed around the Force area to manage Operational demands.
